[Review] The Storm Sister: Book Two (2) (The Seven Sisters)

The first book of the As Sete Irmãs Series brought us the story of Maia, the oldest sister and also the most beautiful. Already in this second book, we get to know more deeply, Ally and her leadership personality. Looking forward to reading the next ones!

“The Storm’s Sister” is the second book in the series “The Seven Sisters” by author Lucinda Riley, published in 2015. The story follows the journey of Ally D’Aplièse, the second sister adopted by Pa Salt, in search of her origins and answers about their identity.

At the beginning of the book, Ally is a famous sailor and lives in a mansion in England with her stepsisters. However, after Pa Salt’s death, she feels lost and decides to follow a lead that leads her to Norway. There, she meets the mysterious Rosseau family and uncovers secrets about her ancestry.

Throughout the narrative, the author interweaves Ally’s story with that of Anna, an opera singer who lived in the early 20th century. Anna is Ally’s ancestor and her story is told through letters found by the protagonist during her journey.

Ally also meets the enigmatic Theo, a man who helps her unravel her story and for whom she begins to develop feelings. However, secrets about Theo and his family begin to surface, putting their relationship at risk.

During her search, Ally travels to Thailand and discovers more about her grandmother, who was a temple dancer and lived a great forbidden love. Through these stories, the protagonist discovers more about her identity and her connection to the world.

The narrative is exciting and full of twists, bringing up themes like family, identity, love and secrets from the past. The characters are well-built and captivating, making the reader get involved in the story and root for them.

Lucinda Riley also vividly describes the settings in which the story takes place, transporting the reader to Norway, Thailand and other locations around the world. The soundtrack present in the story, with references to operas and other classical music, is also a highlight of the narrative.

In summary, “The sister of the storm” is an exciting and engaging book, which further expands the universe created by the author in the series “As Seven Sisters”. Ally’s story is a journey of self-knowledge and discovery, which delights and moves the reader from beginning to end.
An engaging and charming novel, which held me from start to finish, just like the first book. Narrated in first person from the perspective of the protagonist, Ally, it shows the reader a completely different and energetic side.

The author’s writing is even more fascinating. The characters showing themselves more in depth.

The cover is beautiful, even more so than the first. The layout is good and the review exemplary.
