Of the recent releases that arrived in the world of comics, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles gained prominence with the release of The Last Ronin, which presents a dark and dystopian future in the mutant world of turtles that are now no longer teenagers, and only one is alive.

The story takes place in a dystopian future where New York is ruled by a corporation called “The Foot Clan”. The Ninja Turtles were killed in a final conflict against the Foot Clan’s leader, Oroku Hiroto, except for one last survivor, who is now known as “The Last Ronin”.
In the first issue, the Last Ronin is seen wandering the ruins of New York, remembering the days when his sisters and brother were still alive. He has a mission to complete, which is to avenge the deaths of his sisters and brother. In the second issue, the Last Ronin face the Foot Clan again and receive help from an old friend, Casey Jones. Together they break Michelangelo out of a Foot Clan prison.
In the third issue, the Last Ronin rescues April O’Neil from a group of mercenaries hired by the Foot Clan. April is key to the Last Ronin’s victory over the Foot Clan, as she has information about an energy weapon called the “Technodrome”, which the Foot Clan plans to use to destroy the city. In the fourth issue, the Last Ronin and their allies invade the Foot Clan headquarters to prevent the Technodrome from being activated. They are successful, but Casey Jones is killed in the battle.
In the fifth and final issue, the Last Ronin confronts Oroku Hiroto in a final battle. After an intense fight, the Last Ronin emerges victorious and finally fulfills his mission to avenge the deaths of his sisters and brother. In the end, the Last Ronin chooses to remain in New York to protect the city and honor the memory of his sisters and brother.
“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin” is a dark and gripping story that explores themes of revenge, sacrifice and loyalty. The artwork is incredibly detailed and the characters are well-developed, providing an exciting journey for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fans.

Kevin Eastman, Peter Laird, Esau Escorza and Isaac Escorza created a story with enormous potential to become a great milestone for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles because it is a story unlike anything we’ve ever seen in this universe, without letting go of the past.
